The Woman at the Well — John 4:4–30, 39–42

Week 2 Facilitator — Tom Mantei

"If others really knew me, they wouldn't accept me. But Jesus knows me; he accepts me." This passage addresses struggles with acceptance and relationships.
"No one ever cared for me like Jesus did!"

The woman at the well follows on the heels of Jesus' interaction with Nicodemus. In this passage, we read about Jesus' conversation with a lone Samaritan woman who had come to get water from a well.

She was an outcast who was looked down upon by her own people, ostracized and marked as immoral, an unmarried woman living openly with the fifth in a series of men.

This story teaches us that, no matter the bad experiences we've had, God finds us worthy of His love, in spite of our bankrupt lives.

Questions: Can you recall your bad experiences? Have you seen and felt the Lord accept and love you nevertheless? How and why would you share your salvation with others?
