Editing Your Photos Is Essential

Adding Sepia Tone to Your Photos

What's unique about sepia toning?  Sepia tone is a digital photo treatment in which the picture appears in shades of brown. Adding sepia tone to photographs is a favorite way photographers and photo editors evoke a sense of nostalgia in today's images. It's often associated with images from the late 19th century.

Before the invention of digital photography, sepia could only be produced in the darkroom. Today, it can be produced using a camera's digital software or a computer's photo-editing software. After a photograph has been sepia toned, it tends to look softer than it would in grayscale or black and white. The warm brown and gold tones of sepia photographs help make photos feel more alive to some viewers.
