What is a photo collage? Collage is an art form in which graphic designers and photo editors tastefully combine a number of images into one display.
Is a collage different from a photo layout board? Yes. Usually, a collage displays a collection of photos with little or no text, captions, or descriptions. An exception is a photo collage that uses headline text. When descriptions, captions, play-by-play accounts, and so on are added to photo collections, those creations are usually called photo layout boards or storyboards, as opposed to collages. See examples of each on WCD's photo layout page and storyboard page.
Warren Camp has created numerous photo collages for clients, churches, families, and friends, as shown below. Simplest of collages: Warren gave four wedding photos a colored border before placing the collection on a stock background image.

Three baby images were given a custom frame before Warren added a boy's profile, along with an adornment image and applicable Scripture, to create this simple-yet-striking collage.

After giving the background image a muted comic book look, Warren enhanced the collage by placing a number of soft-edge close-ups in key positions.
