On the Friday and Saturday before Mother's Day, our church held its training session for all short-term-mission team members planning their mission this summer. Mission teams headed for Kenya, Italy, and Ethiopia participated in these two-day training exercises.
In the first photo below, our six-person Kenya team is reviewing Swahili, Kenya's national language, and receiving an essential cultural orientation. Our church's Missions Pastor Dave Wilson leads the session.
The second photo shows all six Kenya mission team members, taken on the Friday before Mother's Day. Dale and I are delighted that two of our children, Andrew and Abby, chose to serve the Lord with us on this very worthwhile mission adventure.
It's easy to see in the third photo how beautiful Mother's Day Sunday was for me. My three daughters lovingly joined me in this lovely picture. What made the day so special this year was Anna and David's visit from Los Angeles and Adah's return home from college. We grilled some meat, Adah did my nails, and we all connected as we ate and talked. Everyone looked so fine that I snapped this shot to remember the great time we had together.

I very much look forward to going to Kenya and I pray that I and my wonderful team will be humble servants who share the wonderful life-message of Jesus with those who have never heard about Him.

Kenya team members are presented with the "Language and Cultural Adaptation" study.
Take a look at our project schedule to see all that we plan to accomplish in our three-week mission.

Heavenly Father:
Thank you for Your special gift of mothers and for Your example of the unconditional love they share with their children. Amen.
